Titleist ZB Forged Irons
The Titleist ZB Forged Irons are yet another blended set in the Titleist line which shows that, once again, Titleist is aiming to appeal to all levels of golfers. Like the 735.CMs, the ZBs feature a cavity back style in the long irons for distance with forgiveness, partial cavity mid irons for accuracy and control, and blade style short irons for precision and workability.
Forged from mild 1025 carbon steel, the new Z back design works to position the weight from heel to toe, which in so doing, puts the CG directly in the center of the club. What this does is to launch the ball at an ideal trajectory and give the ZBs the soft but solid feel that most golfers prefer. The minimal progressive offset works to control the trajectory and improves the amount of control and playability given. Also, the ZBs utilize dual hosel lengths throughout the set. Using a short hosel in the long irons keeps the weight low in the club for a better launch, and using a longer hosel in the mid and short irons adds more control in order to manage the ball’s flight.
One of the best feature of these irons, aesthetically, is that despite being a blended set, they have a uniform appearance throughout. Plus, because of their polished chrome finish, they look wonderful.
Overall, the Titleist ZB Forged Irons are quite possibly the best blended set that Titleist has released to date. Ideal for low to mid handicap players, they offer the superior performance that forged sets are known for, but with just enough forgiveness to make all the difference.
