Titleist 695 MB Forged Irons
The Titleist 695.MB Forged irons are the sister set to the 695.CBs (only with less forgiveness) and the successor to the 690.MBs. They provide an excellent feel that better golfers prefer, but with that feel comes a certain lack of forgiveness which means that these clubs are intended for serious golfers.
Like the 695 CBs, the MBs feature a Z-Muscle design which is intended to remove weight from heel of the club and thereby push the center of gravity nearer to the face. The purpose of this is to give a more solid feel, a better energy transfer from clubhead to ball, and consistent launch conditions. They’re forged from mild 1025 carbon steel to give the ultimate in feel and feedback, and the precision forging process Titleist utilizes promises to give consistent head shapes and weights through the set. Also, the thin sole on the MBs reduces digging, making them great to play on almost any type of lie.
Additionally, they look simply splendid. Just like most Titleist irons, the MBs feature the traditional appearance favored by the better player, however they do add a bit of flare by putting just a dash of red on the backs of the clubs. The clubs’ chrome plated finish is polished to a mirror shine that looks wonderful, and they feature True Temper Dynamic Gold Steel shafts with Titleist Tour Velvet Rubber grips.
On the whole, the Titleist 695.MB Forged Irons are an excellent set of irons for players with single digit handicaps. They’re not especially forgiving, but their performance in the hands of a skilled player is practically unrivaled.
